Materials Catalogue—Fine Leathers
We have three ranges of very fine bookbinding leathers suitable for many types of high-quality bespoke projects. Please click the images below to see the colours available for each range. If you can't see what you want on the website please ask us — we will be able to source it for you.
Fine Calf Leathers
Our calf leathers are produced using finest quality calfskins of Scandinavian origin. The surface of the leather is dried on glass sheets to produce a very smooth finish which is soft and luxurious to the touch. This leather is ideally suited for the application of gold leaf patterns and lettering by hand.
Natural Goat Leathers
Our natural goat leathers are made from Indian goatskins. They retain their original grain, giving an attractive, gentle texture. They are fully archival and vegetable tanned and, like our Calf leathers, are ideal for the hand application of gold leaf, or for 'blind' tooling/embossing.
Textured Goat Leathers
These goat leathers have a pronounced texture applied during the production process, giving them a strong presence and character. As with all our fine leathers they are produced from only the highest quality skins.
While we do our best to ensure the accuracy of the images in this section, the pictures may display slightly differently from computer to computer. If you wish to see physical samples we are happy to send them to you.
