Dutch Windmill Paper

£16.00

Known as Zaansch Bord, this beautiful paper is made at De Schoolmeester, Westzaan in The Netherlands, the only wind powered paper mill still working in the entire world.

Built at the beginning of the 17th Century the mill continues to make strong paper made from cotton rags. This paper can be used for various projects within bookbinding.

Thickness: approx. 300gsm
Size sheet: approx. 620mm x 730mm
The sheet has deckled edges

Available in a variety of colours - please note these papers are made from recycled cottons and the colours vary from the photos. Please expect the papers to have a few marks or imperfections caused in the creation of them due to the nature of the antique machinery used.

The papers are used by myself for creating protective book jackets for antiquarian books as well as folders and non-adhesive sewn structures as seen in the photos below.
